Do I need council approval?
It depends on the size, type and where you live — some smaller, open structures are exempt, while solid-roof or larger builds may need approval. We build to Australian Standards and can help you understand what your project needs. Always confirm with your local council, as rules vary.
Natural or synthetic thatch — which lasts longer?
Natural Alang Alang gives the most authentic look and texture. Palmex synthetic thatch lasts up to 50 years — it's colour-fast, low-maintenance, and won't rot or harbour pests. We'll talk you through which suits your space and budget.
What warranty do I get?
Every gazebo or Bali hut we build includes a 25-year warranty against rot and termites, plus our exclusive 10-year hard-wearing structural warranty. Palmex synthetic thatch carries a 50-year lifespan.
Do you install, or supply a DIY kit?
Both. We design and install across Sydney, and supply kits Australia-wide (NSW, VIC, ACT, WA & SA).
Can it handle Australian weather?
Yes. Our structures are made to Australian Standards from pre-treated, pressure-rated timber, with cyclone-rated engineering available for exposed and coastal sites.
Do you re-thatch or repair an existing hut?
Absolutely — re-thatching and restoration is one of our specialties, including upgrading tired natural thatch to long-life Palmex synthetic.
